Albuquerque Rose

- This splendid garden of the
Albuquerque Rose Society was recently completely renovated. The current
collection (1203 bushes representing 493 cultivars and 26 classes of roses)
is organized into separate areas for hybrid teas, old garden roses and
floribundas, hybrid rugosas, polyanthas and miniatures, hybrid musks, newer
ground cover roses, and climbing and rambling roses (on a 70 foot long
pergola and steel trellises).

- Some of the many interesting programs
offered at this national park include the medicinal and food use, including
by Native Americans, of desert plants.
Chile Pepper Institute

- NMSU has been involved in chile cultivar development
for more than 100 years. This breeding program centers on New Mexico's five

- This 1,100 acre indoor/outdoor living
museum offers more than 40 native animal species from birds to bison,
hundreds of succulents displayed in a greenhouse setting, and a 1.3 mile

- A state-of-the-art 11,000 square
foot conservatory features the Desert Pavilion (xeric species), the
Mediterranean Pavilion (aromatic species) and three walled gardens with
