energy-sustainable botanic garden is centered around a 6,800 square foot
three-sectioned conservatory (heated with passive solar energy), which features
an herb garden, a koi pond, a worm farm, a waterfall, exotic vines and tropical
trees, ornamental flowers, bedding plants for the Cheyenne park system, and a
vegetable garden for food distribution programs. Six acres of grounds display a
cacti garden, a rose trial garden, a medicinal herb garden, a lily pond, an
annual flower display, a dry stream bed featuring zoned low water use plants,
perennial gardens, the Peace Garden, a sensory garden, a community garden, a
wheelchair orchard, and a xeriscape planting. Future gardens include a Dwarf
Conifer Garden, a Wet Stream and High Plains Garden, a Rose and Healing Garden,
and a Children's Landscape.
